Biography

Born 1930. French structuralist theorist and critic; leading narratologist and theorist of aesthetics; 2nd Wayne C. Booth Prize 2009.

Contributions

General conceptualization of the field of narratology. Technical concepts for the analysis of narrative time, voice and mood: e.g. anachronies, narrative rhythm, focalization.
